Things to do in Walpole

The coastal abode of Walpole is over 400km south of Perth, and only 45-minutes west of Denmark. The quaint town is nestled between the Southern Ocean and lush forests, notably the karri and tingle trees of the Tree Top Walk.

With access to many beaches, as well as the Walpole and Nornalup inlets, there is no shortage of sheltered spots to swim, fish or launch your boat. Enjoy coastal walks, art trails, wineries and local restaurants in this stunning corner of the world. The surrounding areas include Peaceful Bay, Northcliffe, Denmark and Albany, all with many activities for kids and adults alike.

D'entrecasteaux, Mount Frankland and Walpole-Nornalup National Park are all close by, with nature trails and whale-watching lookouts. It is an ideal area just for a country drive through the towering forests.

The Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk allows you to walk on platforms in the canopies of the tingle trees, giving you a unique birds eye view of the forest. You can also enjoy boardwalks on the forest floor, admiring the giant eucalypts on the Ancient Empire Walk.
