Callaway Music Auditorium

The Callaway Music Auditorium is a noteworthy performance space designed for ensemble rehearsals, lectures, recitals, performances and workshops.

Description

The auditorium creates an opportunity for students to gain performance experience, from playing as a solo performer to participating in a full symphony orchestra or choir.

Built in the 1970s, the Callaway Music Auditorium was constructed with acoustics that impress even today. Adjustable sound baffles (effective, acoustic treatment to increase music clarity and reduce reverberations) transform the acoustics in the space for a large variety of performances, allowing a crisp sound for the audience.

Retractable-tiered seating allows a full capacity of 196, with partial extensions available, giving a range of flexible performance and staging options.

Description

Camelot Outdoor Cinema is a unique and intimate venue located at Mosarts, in the heart of Mosman Park. Camelot screens a wonderful selection of the season’s best films, including some special premiere screenings in picturesque Art Deco surrounds. It’s the perfect setting to take advantage of some glorious weather we get over summer and witness some spectacular night skies.

Relax and enjoy some live music before the movie. On the first Wednesday of every month we have Jazz & Oyster nights, on the second Wednesday of the month Fairbridge Festival tasters and on the third Wednesday of the month it will be live music brought to you by Cool Perth Nights. Go to our music night tab on this website to find out who is playing when. You pay no extra but we do recommend you arrive early or pre-purchase your tickets online to avoid missing out.

There is some dedicated parking behind the Mosarts building, and limited parking on the streets around the venue.

The seating arrangement is a mixture of big, soft bean bags, traditional deckchairs and some high back chairs for those who like to sit up while watching a movie. Bring a blanket and a cushion and can get really comfortable and settle in for your night at the movies.

There is a licensed bar at the venue, but there is no BYO. There are also food option, go to the Food and drink tab of this website, however if you want to bring your own picnic this is welcomed.

 

Claremont Showground

Claremont Showground is home to the Perth Royal Show and more than 240 annual events, attracting over one million visitors a year to Perth’s favourite multi-purpose venue. Claremont Showground boasts seven first class pavilions, specialist function rooms, seminar facilities and outdoor areas including a central grassed arena with more space than the MCG.

The Claremont Showground has been managed by the Royal Agricultural Society of WA (RASWA) since 1902.

RASWA work hard to ensure the Claremont Showground remains a prestige venue to hold a wide range of events which are aimed to entertain and engage the WA community. Recent upgrades and developments to our existing venues have ensured that they remain current.

The venues, which include the Silver Jubilee Pavilion, Robinson Pavilion, Centenary Pavilion and many more can hold anywhere from 20 people to 5000 people.

The Showground Railway Station links patrons with the Perth and Fremantle CBD within minutes, via a world-class public transport system.

The Town of Cottesloe has acquired 15 sculptures from the previous Sculpture by the Sea exhibitions and had four works gifted. These sculptures form an evolving collection for permanent public display for all to enjoy. 

Check out the attached map to view the locations of the permanent sculptures spotted throughout Cottesloe and take yourself on a leisurely tour, or check them off the list each time you're in the area!

The Sculpture by the Sea exhibition originated in Sydney on Bondi Beach in 1997. It found its way to the West coast on Cottesloe Beach in 2005 and since then has been entertaining hundreds of thousands of visitors each year for the exhibition periods.

Dolphin Theatre

Opened in 1976, the Dolphin is a proscenium arch theatre with 198 tiered seats.

Demonstration:

Sit, relax and learn. The chef will demonstrate each dish and explain the process in detail.


Hands on experience:
The cooking school like no other with 12 individual working stations with a 2 burner cooktop, kitchen appliances and utensils for each participant.
After the detailed demonstration from the chefs, roll up your sleeves and learn to cook each dish from start to finish by yourself.
And last but not least you will enjoy all meals.

Be ready to know everything involved in the preparation and cooking process. The scientific side of cooking will be revealed and you will discover cultures, secrets and techniques. Most importantly, you will leave the school knowing exactly how to replicate all the recipes from the easiest to the trickiest.

Classes are limited to 12 people to ensure full involvement and the deserved attention from the chefs.

HBF Stadium

HBF Stadium has a wide variety of facilities available to you, the Perth community.
Three 50m pools, a gymnastics training centre, a modern gym with a dedicated group fitness studio, crèche, café, dive pool, water polo pool and function spaces are all located at HBF Stadium.

There is universal access with ramps into and out of different parts of the venue. A disabled hoist is available for the pool access. Please ring ahead to ensure availability. New Fortune Theatre

The New Fortune Theatre is modelled on London's Fortune Playhouse dating from 1600.

Sea View Golf Club

?Sea View Golf Club is the third oldest golf course in Western Australia, having opened in 1909. We are located in Cottesloe with wide stunning views of the Indian Ocean.

Somerville Auditorium

Under the majestic tree canopy, and with seats for 900 patrons and 300 seated on the ground, there is no better venue to enjoy a film on a warm Perth evening.

In 1927, William Somerville conceived the idea of a tree cathedral of Norfolk pine trees. Today the venue is best known for the Perth International Arts Festival's annual Lotterywest Film Season from November through to April.

Picnicking has become a traditional part of the pre-film entertainment and is a great way to soak up the ambience. The Somerville Auditorium is licensed with a comprehensive bar, has delicious dinner options, snacks, ice-creams and coffee.
 
The venue is also renowned for the annual In the Pines music festival organised by local community radio station RTR FM.
 

Sunset Heritage Precinct

Surfing at City Beach

City Beach is a left hand beach break that breaks off the groyne and is often crowded as it can only support a small crowd of surfers. Popular location for groms.

City Beach Groyne works best during the winter months in easterly winds and west-southwest swells. The break is a short ride that breaks beside the groyne over a shallow sand bank and is best suited to the intermediate surfer.

 

 

Surfing at Cottesloe Beach

Cottesloe is a fairly exposed beach and groyne break that is relatively consistent all year around.

Description

Cottesloe Beach offers left and right-handers on either side of the groyne, with the south side being a popular break for long borders and stand up paddle boarders. The break works best in offshore east-southeasterly winds with swells coming from the southwest, on a mean tide. During summer the break will reamin relatively flat however, it will sometimes produce a small rolling wave perfect for the beginner surfer. Cottesloe is often crowded, especially when the waves are good. Beware of the reef, rocks and rips. 

 

 

 

SymbioticA Lab

SymbioticA was designed as an evolving place of artistic investigation, an artistic laboratory dedicated to the research, learning and critique of life sciences.

The focus on experiential engagement with life led SymbioticA to develop programs that would allow artists and designers access to labs and techniques usually reserved only for scientists and engineers. These programs include residencies, workshops, academic courses and public engagement through exhibitions and forums.

SymbioticA welcome artists, researchers, students and scholars from all disciplines, to work alone or in interdisciplinary/transdisciplinary research teams, exploring innovative directions for new technologies and the effects they might have on society.

SymbioticA is the first research laboratory of its kind, enabling artists to engage in “wet biology”, with access to scientific laboratories and staff in a university biological science department.

The Undercroft
