The Cottesloe Pier, a significant structure, was built in 1904, and the beach has been patrolled by the Cottesloe Surf Life Saving Club since 1909. Over the years, various bathing structures and hotels have been constructed, including the iconic Indiana Teahouse. The pylon, built in 1935, is a popular diving platform and landmark. Cottesloe Beach hosts significant events like the Rottnest Channel Swim and Sculpture by the Sea, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. It was recognized as a place of cultural significance by the Heritage Council in 2005 and remains one of Western Australia's most visited tourist locations.
