3 Oceans make wines from two premium vineyards in Margaret River and Frankland River (Great Southern region of WA). Their huge, family-friendly cellar door is the perfect place to discover the world of WA’s extraordinary southern wine regions.

The Wines
3 Oceans Winemaking philosophy is simple; grow great fruit, nurture it through fermentation and maturation to bottle and let the vineyard terroir express itself in the wines. The range includes everything from easy drinking to ultra-premium Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay.

Wine Tasting
The cellar door is one of the largest in the region and set up especially for kids, families and large groups. Complimentary tastings of over 10 wines are available every day from 10am to 5pm. Group tastings can be booked in advance and are required for large groups of 50+ people.

The Food
The café is open daily from 9am for breakfast and lunch and serves casual fare through to restaurant style seafood dishes, including the famous South-West marron. Locally-sourced Yahava Coffee is available with cakes and a kids menu.

Highlights
Kids will love their own designated hang-out zone which includes video games, toys, chalkboards and outdoor sports equipment. The grounds are large enough for a game of cricket!

Description

The Lewis Family settled their Carbunup property in 1922 as a small family farm. In 1986 the third generation planted vines and flowers which today makes the Anniebrook Wine and Flower Emporium, an incredible property planted with 5 acres of flowers and 18 acres of vines. Anniebrook Wines’ vibrant labels reflect the owner’s appreciation of beautiful flowers and delectable wines. Sweet and dry table wines and a fortified are made.

Cellar Door

Located just 15 minutes from Dunsborough, the quaint cellar door offers wine tastings and showcases an array of flowers, handicrafts and more. Open daily (except for Fridays) from 10am - 3:30pm.

The Food

A stop at the welcoming Anniebrook Wines Café completes any visit. Open Wednesday to Monday for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, have a coffee or tea, homemade scones, or a homemade pie or toasty.

Anniebrook Wines features an impressive collection of more than fifty globally sourced essential oils that are bottled onsite, alongside arrays of artificial trees, silk flowers and beautiful estate-grown blooms.

Description

Aravina Estate was established in 2010 by Perth businessman and sixth generation West Australian, Steve Tobin. Named one of Australia’s “Ten Best New Wineries” (2014) by James Halliday, Aravina Estate offers a mix of memorable experiences for the whole family. While adults enjoy the distinct, quality, regional wines, kids love the European-designed-playground and museums.

The Wines
The first vines were planted in 1986 on prime country in Yallingup and benefits from rich, free-draining lateritic soils, characteristic of the region. The wine-production incorporates some of the world's most innovative viticultural practices, including the use of natural pest reduction remedies and minimal application of sprays. Margaret River’s main wine varieties are all made here, along with Chenin Blanc and Tempranillo.

Wine Tasting
Sample and learn about the wines at the Cellar Door. As there are so many wines to taste, we do charge a $6 tasting fee per person, which is deducted from any wine purchase and complimentary if dining in our restaurant.

Culinary Experiences
The Aravina Estate Restaurant offers fine-dining in an elegant, “Vogue-living” style setting, as reviewed by local critic Rob Broadfield from The West Australian. The menu focuses on local, sustainable produce, sourced from a growing collection of local farmers, as well as estate grown produce. The dishes are designed to pair with the Aravina Estate wines. Bookings are recommended, especially during holiday periods. For something more casual, unwind on the lawn and enjoy a Aravina grazing board or Pizza from our newly opened Pizza Bar. Visit on the weekends and enjoy live gigs on the lawn for the whole family to enjoy.

Description

Located between the Great Southern region’s Stirling and Porongurup Ranges, Arcadia Wines winery was established by John and Gaye Robinson in 1998, who visited Kendenup from Perth one weekend while looking for a getaway property. This single vineyard was first planted in 1997 on fertile slopes that dip into the picturesque creek known locally as 'Dead Man's Creek'.

The beautiful views of the Stirling Range inspired the name 'Arcadia', used in Roman and Greek poetry as a place where people were believed to enjoy the perfect life.

Great Southern regional heroes Riesling and Shiraz are the focus along with beautiful, cool climate Cabernet Sauvignon.

Cellar Door

Barton Jones Wines is a boutique winery with some of the oldest vines in the Geographe Region, six acres were planted in 1978 with the first wines produced in 2007. Our grape varieties include Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Semillon and Chenin Blanc and we are part of the Geographe Wine Region of Western Australia. We’re situated just 1.5km from Donnybrook town centre.
Mature vines and fruit quality underpin the production of premium wines. The 56-acre property includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Semillion and Chenin Blanc. The vineyard is dry grown and has no requirement for irrigation.

Two distinct wine styles are produced: the Premium Series is a wooded style vintage with food matching in mind, and the Cellar Series, restrained with oak and a fresh, vibrant fruit driven style.

The cellar door is entirely solar powered and has a ‘skate park’ roof shape designed to catch the perfect amount of sun power and collect rain water. All materials used in the cellar door are environmentally friendly and upcycled. 

 

The cellar door and cafe is open for tastings and sales from Thurs- Sun 11am to 4.30pm and most public holidays (excluding Good Friday and Christmas Day). It’s available for hire for weddings, birthdays and other special events, including corporate days and meetings.

What began as a passion for wine in 1987 for Vic Kordic has blossomed into an impressive operation with an award-winning wine range. Sons Mark and Paul Kordic now head the vineyard and make cool climate estate-grown and bottled wines with elegant and unique character from their boutique operation.

The Wines

The wines have a great depth of flavour and texture born from sensitive winemaking and fermentation with natural yeast in the Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs, reflective of Manjimup’s ideal growing conditions. The award-winning range also includes Verdelho, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and a Sparkling Merlot.

Description

First planted in 1976, Clairault Streicker has grown from a modest 4-hectare vineyard to a 200-hectare estate, incorporating four premium vineyards throughout Margaret River. The estate maintains an exceptional track record for its wines, which are grown following natural, biological farming principles.

Clairault Steicker combines two unique Margaret River wine stories. Streicker Wines began with a Yallingup vineyard in 2002, acquired by US native John Streicker who was so taken with the local lifestyle, sustainable viticulture ethos and world-class wines when visiting in 2001 that he decided to pursue his wine dreams in Margaret River. In 2012, historic estate Clairault Wines became part of the Streicker portfolio. Major enhancements have been made to all vineyard management to continually improve fruit and wine quality.

The Wines
The wine range celebrates the diversity of Margaret River’s hero varieties when grown in different areas of the wine appellation, with highlights including a single vineyard Cabernet made from 40 year old Wilyabrup vines and a cool-climate looking Syrah from Wallcliffe. It is a pure and unique journey through terroir in Margaret River. Look out for a few niche varieties in the mix too.

Wine Tasting
Follow a scenic driveway off Caves Road through farm land and native forest to the contemporary cellar door. A relaxing environment to discover the premium wines, it also offers a selection of house made produce available for sale. Private tours and tastings can be arranged in advance. Open 10am-5pm daily.

The Food
The Clairault Streicker Café serves up a selection of modern Australian share-plates for lunch daily. The menu showcases excellent produce, served simply, ideal for those who enjoy less formal dining. For the ultimate indulgence, spend an afternoon with the 5 course long lunch. A gorgeous stone fire-place makes for cosy dining in winter, while in summer, a picnic blanket in the gardens makes for a blissful lunch setting.

In addition to wine grapes, the Clairault Streicker Estate Yallingup vineyard grows Protea flowers and table grapes.

Description

Bruce Dukes is a long-time local winemaker with a great reputation. For many years he led the winemaking team at Pierro in Margaret River, and says a lengthy stint at Niebaum-Coppola in the Napa Valley gave him great confidence in his philosophies. An Agronomist, Bruce approaches winemaking from an agricultural point of view, focussing immensely on soil health and sustainable farming, which he believes reaps the best rewards for the wine and the environment.

The Wines
Domaine Naturaliste makes three ranges of wine from classic Margaret River varietals to showcase his artisanal approach. The range names are the Discovery Series, Direction Series and Flagship Series. His Artus Chardonnay and Morus Cabernet Sauvignon were major winners at the 2018 International Wine Challenge in London, each receiving the trophies for Best Margaret River Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Wine Tasting
Domaine Naturaliste now has it's own estate in Wilyabrup with a 21 Ha vineyard and a picturesque Cellar Door (formerly Knee Deep Wines). Open from 10am - 5pm daily, visitors can relax in the vineyard setting with seated wine flights of Domaine Naturaliste wines accompanied by charcuterie or cheese.

Description

The land on which the Ducketts Mill winery is located started out with a small 5 acre planting of riesling, cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc. Additional plantings have increased the total vineyard area to 18 acres. 

Combining their love for cheese and wine, Ross and Dallas Lewis run a homely cellar door nestled in the lush Scotsdale Valley.  Set in an old timber farmstead and overlooking the vineyard, visitors can settle back and enjoy cheese platters matched to the cool-climate wines from the estate in Denmark. 

There are more than 40 varieties of cheese made under the Denmark Farmhouse Cheese brand and everything is made from locally sourced dairy produce. Left over milk is used to make ice-cream and fudge.

The Wines
Winemaker James Kellie is responsible for the concise collection of wines at Duckett’s Mill.  Sauvignon blanc, riesling, semillon, chardonnay, merlot, cabernet sauvignon and franc are all grown on the estate vineyards.  There is also a small collection of fortified wines, which are well-matched to the generous cheese and meat platters.

Wine Tasting
All wines and cheeses are available for tasting at the cellar door on Scotsdale Road from Monday to Sunday, 10-5.

Unique Highlights
Cheese, jam, chutney, fudge, premium home-made ice-cream and wines are all made at Duckett’s Mill and are available for purchase at the cellar door.

Description

Located 20 minutes east of Bunbury within the lush Ferguson Valley, this estate was one of the first vineyards to be planted in the region. Established by the Giumelli Family in 1983, the property's rich soils are home to the 3 hectare vineyard in which the family has planted award-winning vines.

The Wines

The wines include Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc Semillon and Chardonnay and are known for their full flavour and elegant structure.

Cellar Door

Generous samples of the estate's wines are available at the cellar door, Friday through Sunday from 10am - 4pm. Alternative times for tastings can be arranged by appointment.

The Food

Ferguson Falls Estate’s delicious stone-baked American and Italian style gourmet pizzas received the Gold Plate Award in 2017. There’s also a range of cheeses, created from the farm’s dairy milk available to enjoy as well as desserts and Yahava coffee. Open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10am - 4pm.

The Food

Description

Green Door Vineyard & Winery is a small boutique winery in the Ferguson Valley. Ashley & Kath Keeffe purchased the run-down vineyard in 2006 and set about restoring and replanting, with the Grenache and Tempranillo finding near perfect conditions. Other grapes in the vineyard include Monastrell, Shiraz, Fiano, and Verdelho.

Ashley is very conscious of soil health and the vineyard is managed with a minimal intervention ethos, creating fruit with great flavour. All grapes are handpicked and basket pressed, with all wines made on the property by Ashley and consultant winemaker, Vanessa Carson. Various different wine making techniques are used including the use of Amphora pots for fermentation, cold soaking on skins and the addition of whole bunches to ferments.

There is a cellar door cafe on the property serving sharing style grazing platters showcasing local produce. The focal point of the cellar door is the grand green door, imported from Fez, Morocco. The Moorish theme of the winery and cafe menu matches the predominantly Spanish/European characteristics of the wines. Ash, Kath and their team take great satisfaction in being involved in the whole process of growing, making and sharing the enjoyment of the wines.

Description

Hamelin Bay Wines was established by the Drake-Brockman family in 1992. The family-run vineyard features a restaurant and cellar door and is built upon a unique family history in the region.

A Serendipitous Tale
Owner Richard Drake-Brockman is the great grandson of regional pioneer Grace Bussell, whose family first settled in the Margaret River region in 1830. Grace is famous for her courage as a 16-year-old when, with aboriginal stockman Sam Isaacs, she rescued the survivors of the ‘Georgette’ shipwreck at Redgate Beach. Her husband, Frederick Brockman is known for his exploration of the Kimberley. He read about Grace’s feat in the newspaper and was so impressed, he rode 300km on horseback to meet her. This romantic tale ended happily when they married in 1882.

In a stroke of serendipity, Hamelin Bay’s vineyard and winery is located at the intersection of the Brockman and Bussell Highways, which were named in honour of these two pioneering families.

The Wines
The unique Five Ashes vineyard is one of Margaret River’s most picturesque vineyards. The moderate maritime climate and a north facing ridge of prime gravely loam soils are ideal for premium quality grape growing.  The white wines exude freshness and elegance, and the red wines have restrained power and depth. Since first vintage in 1996, Hamelin Bay has been awarded more than 10 major wine show trophies and numerous gold, silver and bronze medals.

Wine Tasting
The cellar door sits on a peaceful valley slope overlooking the vines, an idyllic lake and rolling hills surrounded by Marri forest. Follow a magnificent granite entry through to the contemporary tasting space daily, from 10am to 4.45pm for wine tasting.

The Food
The Restaurant is offers sweeping views over the Five Ashes vineyard and the Rushy Creek valley below, with a background of tall Marri and Karri trees. Open for lunch and dinner the menus incorporate fresh, local seasonal ingredients in a laid-back and generous country style. Save room from for the house-made ice-cream sandwiches, which take a local twist on a classic Australian favourite treat.

Established in 2000 by the Hillier family, the estate is a single vineyard producer that also operates a microbrewery and accommodation from its premises. Situated 5km north of Collie, on the eastern border of the Geographe Wine Region, this prime location provides ironstone gravel soils and a cool altitude to enable production of premium wines with finesse and flavour.

The Wines

Ironwood Estate is nestled in the heart of the ancient Porongurup Range; an 1100-million year-old granite range that was once a forest island. Established in 1996 by Mary and Eugene Harma, 'Ironwood' earned its name thanks to the ironstone outcrops on the hills, and the stands of Jarrah and Redgum. Planted in unique mineral-rich soils, the estate's cool-climate elevation and local terroir yields intense, varietal fruit flavours in wines with known for their distinctive clean palate. Ironwood Estate is dedicated to consistent quality, from the hand selection of their grapes through the vinification, maturation and bottling of their fine wines.

Three generations of the Hammond family have toiled together to create the vineyards of Oakway Estate within the Geographe Wine Region. Owners Wayne and Ria planted their vines in 1997, and following success with winemaking, the former orchard farm now supports a boutique winery and cellar door, nano brewery, vineyard, a plantation of sustainable blue gum trees and beef cattle.

Oakway Estate takes a very hands-on and natural approach to vineyard management to carefully monitor vine vigour and growth, undertaking labour-intensive tasks including fruit thinning and leaf plucking to grow superb quality grapes.

The Wine

Varieties include Sauvignon Blanc (and blends), Chardonnay, Vermentino, Nero D'avola, Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Old School Liqueur and a delicously sweet Moscato.

Description

The Old Kent Yard vineyard is located in the Great Southern Region of Western Australia, with its cellar door in Margaret River. Originally set up in 1952 as a sheep farm, a vineyard area was planted with Pinot Noir in 1985. These days Chardonnay, Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc are grown too. Hands-on and down to earth owners, the Noacks, conducted a major rehabilitation scheme across the whole property, including a tree-planting programme, whereby various species of Eucalypt and deep-rooted perennials were planted. 

‘The Farm,’ as known to the family also produces lamb and elusive native marron that are sold at the Cellar Door.

The Wines
Old Kent Road is a serious, cool-climate, single vineyard producer that focuses varietal, regionally expressive wines. The vineyard started out growing fruit for established wine producers. Seeing the great success of their wines, the Noacks decided to produce their own label, releasing a sparkling wine and pinot noir in 1991. These wines achieved a raft of awards and remain the flagships of the Old Kent River range.

Wine Tasting
Since 2017 the winery has operated a rammed-earth cellar door, conveniently located on the corner of Caves and Ellen Brook Road just north of Margaret River town. The whole range of wines from Margaret River and the Great Southern can be tasted. Groups tastings can be booked in advance for groups of 8 or more. Open daily 10am – 5pm. Closed Tuesday and Wednesday in non-peak season.

Unique Highlights
The large lawn has ample picnic tables and blankets for a picturesque picnic. Create a platter from a small selection of local cheese and produce, or pre-order a Gourmet Picnic Hamper by famous local Chef Lainy Mammone (requires 48 hours notice).

Description

Established by Murray and Pamela Lincoln, a couple from Perth who built a sustainable, energy efficient home and vineyard on their property nearby Albany in 2000. The winery is part of WOOF (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farm) and offers travellers a place to stay in return for their labour on a range of viticulture and winemaking activities. Over 400 visitors have participated to date.

The organic vineyard is located in the east of the Great Southern Wine Region, where its climate and soils grow elegant fruit with minerality and natural acidity. The property also has a range of organic gardens growing plums, apples, cherries, avocado, guavas, stone fruit, olives, berries and citrus.

Key activities that underpin their approach to sustainability including recycling, composting, revegetation and the use of renewable. The pair have planted thousands of trees on the 20 acres of land and their vineyard and cellar door are powered almost entirely by solar energy.

The Wine

Varieties include Riesling, Sparkling Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Rose, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Shiraz, Pinot Port and Sparkling Merlot. Winemaker Rob Diletti was awarded the coveted Winemaker of the Year title by James Halliday in 2015.

Cellar Door

A stroll through Oranje Tractor’s organic gardens leads to their rustic cellar door, packed with vintage items. It is open Sundays 11am - 5pm, or by appointment Monday to Saturday for tastings, Wine Flights and gastronomic events. Following a SLOW food ethos, all food served at the property is sourced within a 50 kilometre radius.

Description

The 10 hectare property was purchased in 1991 by Phil and Mary Smith, who wished to partake in horticulture from a base nearby Bunbury where Phil works as an anaesthetist. The property was planted with citrus trees and table grapes, before they made the exciting progression to wine grapes on the estate in 1997. Subsequent plantings ensued . With focus on extraction and blending to craft the perfect wine, with minimal impact the team at Saint Aidan aim to create 'Art in a Bottle'. 

Home grown varietals include Chardonnay, Cabernet, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat, Malbec and Tempranillo.

Cellar Door

Nestled between the Sauvignon and Semillon vines and the Ferguson River is the rammed earth Cellar Door Restaurant. The building was sympathetically designed to blend in with the surroundings and reflect the design of the neighbouring Church from where the estate takes its name. Saint Aidan's award-winning wines can be sampled Monday to Friday 11am - 4pm, and weekends 11am - 5pm. A large range of homemade preserves like ‘Grandmas Tomato Relish’ are also available to purchase, as is a range of artwork from regional artists.

The Food

The Cellar Door Restaurant Menu focuses on the best seasonal offerings, using local ingredients wherever possible for soups, mains and sumptious desserts. The recently refurbished space can seat up to 60 guests in climate controlled comfort.

There are also picnic and gas barbecue facilities under the Peppermint trees at the estate, on the banks of the Ferguson River with plenty of space and family cricket games are welcomed!

St Aidan Wines also hosts a variety of Events throughout the year from their Summer Film on the Ferguson Outdoor Cinema to the iconic Annual Tempranillo Tasting Day in August.

The Lake House follows a philosophy of slowing down, taking time out and enjoying laid back time with family and friends, good food and wine. This concept led the development of their wine range, cellar door, restaurant and range of gourmet condiments and grape-based body lotions.

It was established in 2006 by Garry Capelli and Leanne Rogers who fell in love with Denmark ten years prior, determining it would be the place they brought their country-living dreams to life.

The Wines

Grapes are grown in the estate vineyard at Denmark and specialty sites in Mount Barker and Frankland River. The wines include Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, which between them have received an impressive array of medals at Western Australian wine shows.

Cellar Door

Perched beside a picturesque lake and vineyard, the Cellar Door is located just five minutes from Denmark town and offers complimentary tastings of over 20 different wines made by The Lake House team. In addition, a range of chutneys, vinegars, sauces, syrups and chocolates made under the Vinofood label are available for tasting too. Winespa body lotion products can also be sampled.

The Restaurant

Lazy long lunches by the lake are what The Lake House hangs it hat on most. Open daily, the food, created from local produce, ranges from rustic vineyard platters to their famous beef and shiraz pie, curries and more.

Description

Established in 1967 by regional pioneer Dr Tom Cullity, Vasse Felix is Margaret River's founding wine estate.

One of the great wine regions of the world, Margaret River enjoys a truly unique environment and climate which makes it a paradise for winemakers and wine lovers alike.  From the first plantings right up to the modern day, Vasse Felix has always strived to explore and express the very best of the Margaret River region and to share it globally.   

Owned by the Holmes a Court family since 1987, Vasse Felix has carefully expanded its vineyards over the decades to include four distinct and exceptional sites around the Margaret River region.  Each vineyard is matched to the best possible varieties and clones, and farmed sustainably using traditional and organic practices. 

In 2017 Vasse Felix was awarded the international title of ‘New World Winery of the Year’ by US Wine Enthusiast Magazine, one of six Australian wineries to ever win this title.

The Wines

Vasse Felix's wines reflect the varietal strengths of Margaret River, with a focus on Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, as well as Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc / Semillon blends.  All wines are vinified with minimal intervention and bottled within the Estate’s modern winery, situated at their Home Vineyard overlooking the Wilyabrup Brook. The Vasse Felix winemaking philosophy is founded on the beliefs that great wines are made in the vineyard, must be authentic expressions of their place, and are the work of a great team of passionate people.

Wine Tasting

The Vasse Felix Cellar Door - also located at the Home Vineyard - is renowned and offers a range of experiences. Enjoy a classic over the counter wine tasting or self-paced seated option, alternatively linger in the chic wine lounge over a glass of wine or wine flight with charcuterie. A range of historic vintages are available by the glass also. No trip to Margaret River is complete without a visit, tour or tasting at the Vasse Felix Cellar Door. Open 10am-5pm daily. 

For a more bespoke experience, book a behind the scenes, epicurean tour or fill a day with Vasse Felix’s Cape to Vine tour, operated in collaboration with local guide Cape to Cape Explorer Tours.

The Food

A national benchmark winery restaurant, Vasse Felix Chef Brendan Pratt creates modern cuisine with a strong focus on local, seasonal produce and a clever balance of artistry and simplicity to complement the Wine Collection. While bookings are recommended, a few walk-in seats can be snapped up at the chef’s table. Open for lunch daily 12pm - 3pm.

Unique Highlights

Aside from visiting the region’s oldest vines, explore the wow-factor museum space - The Vault, chronicling the history of Vasse Felix and Margaret River in the early days and housing Margaret River's oldest red wine - the 1972 Vasse Felix Cabernet Sauvignon. A seasonal program of exhibitions from Australia’s largest private art collection is shown at the Vasse Felix gallery.

Description

Voyager Estate is a small, second generation, family-owned estate located in Stevens Valley and was established in 1978. Currently undergoing full organic conversion, the winery is one of Australia’s most ambitious and innovative producers of world-class Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. All wines are estate-grown and reflect the unique qualities of Stevens Valley in Wallcliffe, Margaret River, with its undulating slopes, warm summers and cooling maritime breezes.

The Wines
Voyager Estate specialises in making Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. The range explores these in-depth, through three labels; MJW, Estate and Projects.

MJW wines are the pinnacle of viticulture and winemaking. Sourced from the very best fruit and only made in exceptional years when conditions are optimal. Made in extremely limited quantity and presented in a hand numbered bottle.

The Estate Range wines have become recognised as excellent expressions of their variety and wine style. They all play their part in demonstrating the effect that the gravel soils, microclimate, aspect, and maritime influence of our site have on these classic varieties. 

The Project Wines give the vineyard and winery teams the chance to showcase varieties and styles outside our Estate Range. It's an opportunity to trial different winemaking techniques, or highlight the nuances of the growing season.

Wine Tasting

Voyager Estate specialises in seated wine flight style tastings that offer an in-depth understanding of the wines. Wines can also be enjoyed by the glass or bottle, with share plates of cold meats and preserves available too. For something extra special, book a private tasting with the Estate Sommelier, or select one of the diverse behind the scenes tours that operate on weekdays. Open 10am – 5pm daily.

The Restaurant
Headed by Spanish Chef Santiago Fernandez, who won WA Regional Chef of the Year (2018 WA Good Food Guide), Voyager Estate specialises in wine-paired menus. The 4 or 7 course degustation menu shows off not just the Voyager Estate wines, but also Margaret River’s impressive seasonal produce. It changes every two months. Open from 11.30am daily.

The restaurant was also awarded Regional Restaurant of the Year in the WA Good Food Guide awards in November 2018.

Spend the day with Voyager Estate on their Walk, Wine & Dine tour. It begins with a guided walk through the Boodijdup Valley section of the world-renowned Cape to Cape track, completes with the ultimate treat, a spectacular 7-course, wine-paired menu at the award-winning Voyager Estate Restaurant.

Description

Founded in 1997, West Cape Howe quickly grew a reputation as one of Western Australia’s most popular wine brands and was named Australia’s ‘Best Value Winery’ by James Halliday in 2016.

Wines are grown at two estate vineyards, the most significant being their Langton Vineyard, one of the Great Southern Region’s earliest planted vineyards, established in Mount Barker in 1978. This site grows Cabernet Sauvignon, Riesling and Shiraz and has produced many trophy winning wines. The vineyards are managed with a holistic approach and use of natural management practices where possible. The wines are made at West Cape Howe’s state-of-the-art winery in Mount Barker.

Four tiers of wines are made representing a broad selection of regional hero varieties with a few surprises too.

Located 45 minutes north of Albany, the West Cape Howe Cellar Door offers wine tastings daily from 10am to 5pm on weekdays and 11am to 4pm on weekends.
