Amato Vino are small-batch artisan winemakers based in a quirky old building in Witchcliffe.
Amato Vino are boutique winemakers with a very unique cellar door situated in a lovingly restored heritage building in Witchcliffe, less than 10 minutes south of Margaret River. The winemaking philosophy is ‘lo-fi’, in that they embrace wild-ferments, minimal adjustments in the winery, gentle handling. Their focus is on alternate grape varietals, and most wines are unfined and unfiltered. They are hands-on in terms of the grunt work, the care and guidance, but with a hands off approach to the science of winemaking, using little or no inputs and employing traditional processes. An old-school approach yet with a modern flare for creativity and adventure. If you fancy a nibble, they offer cheese plates full of local goodness!
