Whites Hill Reserve is a things to do venue in Camp Hill, Queensland.

With a long history and excellent recreational facilities, it is a popular attraction for visitors. The area was originally known as Boolimba, meaning place of magpie larks.

Whites Hill itself is named after Robert (Bob) White, who acquired land surrounding the hill in 1873 and built his family home there. The house became a popular spot for outings and events.

In 1924, Brisbane City Council attempted to buy the land but was turned down. After White’s death in 1927, the land was eventually sold to the council.

During World War II, Whites Hill became an observation post and was used for army training. The house remained until 1964 when it was torn down due to vandalism.

The land was then developed into a public park with sporting clubs and walking tracks. Whites Hill Reserve is characterized by a topographical ridge extending from Pine Mountain through to Whites Hill.

It is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including 58 species of bird, 1 mammal species, 4 reptile species, and a scattered koala population. The reserve’s vegetation consists of various tree species, including tallowwood, Grey Gum, Brush Box, Queensland Blue Gum, and White Mahogany, with some instances of Rainforest.

The Brisbane City Council practices anti-bushfire methods and maintains fire trails throughout the reserve. The reserve offers a range of facilities and recreational opportunities.
