Wanda Beach Cronulla is a things to do venue in Cronulla, New South Wales.

The beach is named after the Aboriginal word “Wanda” which means beach or sand hills, and is surrounded by the stunning Cronulla sand dunes known as Green Hills or Green Hills Ridge. The land of Wanda Beach Cronulla was originally inhabited by the Gweagal Aborigines, who are traditional custodians of the southern areas of Sydney, with “Wanda” being an Aboriginal word for beach or sand hills.

After World War II, the Wanda Surf Lifesaving Club was established by a group of men who banded together in the same way they did in warfare to patrol the beaches. The club’s colors were adopted as red (for Army), blue (for Air Force), and navy (for Navy) and the club has grown to over 900 male and female members of all ages.

The club aims to ensure the safety of the surfing public through beach patrols and is also actively involved in State and National Competitions. The club organizes social activities throughout the year to bring all members of the club together.

In 1965, Wanda Beach became notorious after a tragic event known as the Wanda Beach Murders, which is still unsolved to this day. Wanda beach is a perfect spot to enjoy the sun and surf while appreciating the landscape and the history of the area.

The Wanda Surf Lifesaving club ensures the safety of visitors to the beach, making it an ideal place to spend a day with family and friends.
