We started making soap in 1993 when our three children were diagnosed with eczema and dermatitis, and were advised by Doctors not to use soap or shampoo. This inspired us to research, seeking a chemical free, natural alternative.

We realised the only way we could guarantee that the products were natural and healthy was to make our own. After experimenting with many recipes and ingredients finally came up with a range of bars using a traditional cold process method of soap making with extra virgin olive oil as the main base, along with ingredients, carefully chosen not only for their therapeutic values but because each must work as a skin care product.

100% essential oils & pure plant extracts are used to add perfume to the products in order to rejuvenate and maintain healthy skin. Organically grown teas, clays, flowers, herbs & spices add texture and colour into the soap range.

The soap business began in 1996 using a bucket and wooden spoon to make the soap in the family kitchen from the farm in Kojonup Western Australia in 1996 under the label Synergistic Blend. Subsequent growth saw the opening of a boutique factory in Margaret River Western Australia, The Natural Olive Oil Soap Factory expanding the range into moisturising lotions, skin balms, scrubs, bath and massage oils.

Now named Vasse Virgin, the factory is nestled in amongst vine covered slopes and National parks where visitors are welcome and products can be tried and tested, delighting your senses with beautiful fusions of the finest extra virgin olive oil and pure essential oils from around the world.

In our experience the commitment to extra virgin olive oil as the base for our products is fundamental to our success. The history of olive oil mirrors the history of western civilisation.

It has truly unique characteristic which benefit the most sensitive of skins. It is our aim to produce a range of products that are mild and gentle on sensitive skin but are also luxurious products that your body can savour.

The soap has developed into a highly sought after product selling thousands of cakes in our unique retail outlet and also to Australian Pharmacies, Gourmet & Health Food Stores, throughout Australia, exporting overseas, supplying an international hotel chain with soap as well as supplying a number of international stores.
