Sherwood is a accommodation venue in Goldfield Heights;Queenstown, South Island. The hotel has 78 rooms that have been overhauled by architect Allistar Cox to create a range of accommodation, from four-star suites to private dorms complete with bunk beds. The rooms are simple, cosy, and a little moody, with commissioned local artwork and wall hangings, monogrammed blankets woven from sustainable and recycled materials. The hotel has recently refurbished rooms that contain lots of recycled materials and there™s an onsite vegetable garden. Sherwood has sought natural comforts in their purest form, using inspiration found in art and culture, delicately balanced against the genetics of a mid-80™s motor-inn. Wherever possible, the hotel has used sustainable and recycled materials, but above all, they have sought to create a serene but homely space to enjoy a good night’s sleep. The hotel has an excellent onsite restaurant which is very popular with locals. The bar/restaurant area often plays host to some great live musical acts.
