About Russell Square

It was named after Lord John Russell and is bounded by Parker Street and Shenton Street. Created between 1838 and 1845, it has been known by different names, including the “Park of Sighs.” In the early 1990s, the square underwent a review and received an extensive upgrade in October 1994, which included the addition of thirty sculptures by local artists Greg James and Drago Dadich.
