About Pumphouse Point
Pumphouse Point is a accommodation venue in Lake St Clair, Tasmania.
The hotel is situated on the glacial waters of Lake St Clair, which is Australia’s deepest lake. The accommodation is in two separate buildings: the Pumphouse and the Shorehouse.
There are 19 boutique rooms and suites, which are clean, well-designed, and super comfortable. The rooms present a classic art-deco décor with stylish trimmings.
The hotel offers a unique Lake St Clair accommodation experience, and guests can enjoy the Tasmanian sense of cheerful outdoorsy-ness among the largely local staff, which suits the wilderness location. There are communal areas and a number of guest rooms that are wheelchair accessible, and electric buggies are available for quiet transport around the property and along the flume to the Pumphouse.
The hotel has a restaurant and an honesty bar system, and the lounges are well-stocked with an incredible array of drinks. Pumphouse Point lies within a national park that protects some of the rarest forest on earth, and the lost-in-time forest frames the glacial Lake St Clair.
Guests can quiz the staff about day walks to suit their energy level and mood, and special picnic spots. It is important to note that Pumphouse Point is for adults only, and no guests under 18 are allowed.
