New Edition is a Perth icon. It was located in the heart of Fremantle for eons (well quite a few years), down on South Terrace, but in recent years it has moved to High Street Freo, and also opened a second branch where the great and glorious Arcane Bookshop used to be, in William Street in Perth.
New Edition Bookshop in Perth is as cosy as your lounge room, if your lounge room had a great barista and a wise bookseller in residence. The stock mix makes you want to be smarter, more literary (when you clearly aren’t as you haven’t read half the novelists on their wall) but New Ed would never make you feel inferior for your lack of literary education, they just want to help you towards a deeper reading experience.
New Ed has the perfect amount of bookshop cool; making a visit there more about enlightenment than intimidation.
