Ford House Bed and Breakfast is set in exquisite gardens in Bridgetown, less than 3hrs from Perth, yet in the centre of the southwest, close to Margaret River, Augusta, Pemberton and Walpole. Rolling hills cloaked in forest, orchard and paddock make a perfect backdrop for historic Ford House, built in 1896.

Best B&B in Western Australia in 2001 and Finalist in 2002, Ford House offers guests luxurious accommodation and many facilities. The five acre property with its 600m Blackwood River frontage is on the edge of town yet surrounded by dense forest.

Guests at Ford House enjoy large rooms, French doors and high ceilings at an affordable price. There are single, twin and queen size rooms, and even a larger than king sized historic four poster bed, complete with roaring fire, en-suite and bay windows.

At Aislinn, also on the property, sheoak floors, amish quilts and en-suites grace both double rooms. One has a spa overlooking the river.

From the sitting room, Guests can open tri-fold doors to watch the river pass them by. Warm fires, fresh flowers, books and original artworks enhance all rooms, as do TV.

Some have video units. The intimate Cooks Retreat has every conceivable luxury from air-conditioning, spa and Foxtel to chandeliers.

Of course it too has a private terrace overlooking the river. The latest addition, the Dormers, boast all the luxury of Cooks Retreat, with the addition of 5m high ceilings that allow you to watch stars go by.

Amidst an 8m wall of preserved fruit, breakfast is held in the Barn. Home baked bread, preserves, jams, roasted almonds, honey cured bacon and eggs all add to the morning delights of breakfast at Ford House Retreat.

The Barn has century old, hand adzed walls has played host to unique banquets. Now it is also part of Wag Walters Emporium a mecca for homewares, with gifts for every conceivable occasion.
