The weather is cooler, and the trail is less muddy and more enjoyable. Saltwater National Park is situated between Taree and Forster, off the Lakes Way in New South Wales.

The walking track can be reached via the Saltwater picnic area. The park has a large parking area, and the walking track starts from there.
