About Chester Sears

My stone art developed from utilising the waste chips of rock that are made in the process of (dressing or preparing) a rock to be laid (generally, there are a lot of chips). I started making lime sand and cement boarders, then cementing the select chips into them making miniature stone panels and calling them Zen Plaques, these sold consistently in the Margaret River gallery.
This led to many new ideas and the quest to look for small to tiny rocks, picking them up at any opportunity, (I can not help myself), for example, Austria, Cooper Peedy, Donnybrook, and the West Australian goldfields. In 2008 I introduced drift plastic that has washed up on the beach for more colour and a ‘beachie’ look.
I can build almost anything with stone, from very small to large spheres, to urn shapes and much more.
