Description
The Mill Canowindra, formerly known as The Mill Cowra, is a historical flour mill built in 1861.
It was closed in 1901 due to economic conditions but was restored in 1994 to become a winery, restaurant, and events venue. The restoration used over 90% recycled materials and preserved the original milling machinery.
Visitors to The Mill Canowindra can enjoy the combination of history, wine, and food. The venue offers award-winning wines for purchase and tasting sessions, as well as a delicious lunch. Guided tours of the building are also available. It is a popular location for functions such as birthdays, wedding receptions, and corporate meetings.
The Mill Canowindra is currently open only for functions until January 2016. It is located at 42 Ferguson Street in Canowindra, a short drive from major towns like Orange, Bathurst, and Cowra. The best time to visit is during the grape harvest season between February and April, but advance booking is recommended.
