John Gardner Reserve

Attractions

Beech Forest, VIC 3237

Description

John Gardner Reserve Beech Forest is a family-friendly playground with picnic areas and a trailhead.

The playground features wooden log equipment, including a train and carriage, climbing frame, swings, and more. It also offers three tables, a BBQ area, clean toilets, and limited grassy areas.

The reserve is the starting point of the Old Beechy Rail Trail, making it a great location for hikers and bikers. Despite the trail's elevation, visitors can enjoy the train-themed playground and picnic areas along the way. A metal sculpture portrays the trail's elevation, adding to the experience.

In addition to the playground and trail, the reserve also has picnic areas and the Beech Forest Information and Historical Centre. Visitors can take a break, enjoy their lunch, and learn about the region's history, geography, and upcoming events.

For any inquiries, the Colac Otway Shire Council customer service team is available to assist visitors. They can be contacted via email or phone, and additional support is provided for visitors with hearing or speech impairments or those who require translation services.

Colac Otway Shire Council acknowledges the traditional custodians of the Colac Otway region, the Gulidjan, and Gadubanud peoples, past, present, and emerging.
