Devonport, located in the North West of Tasmania, is home to the Devonport Regional Gallery, a vibrant contemporary art space housed in the Paranaple Arts Centre. The gallery offers an annual program of exhibitions, education, and public events, featuring three separate exhibition spaces and a workshop area called the Creative Space. The Main Gallery primarily presents touring exhibitions, while the Little and Upper Galleries showcase works from the Devonport City Permanent Collection, which includes textiles, ceramics, glass, sculpture, paintings, and works on paper by iconic Tasmanian and Australian artists.
The gallery is committed to collecting and promoting Tasmanian art, craft, and design, and runs an emerging artist program to support local and state-wide artists. The Devonport Regional Gallery is open 6 days a week, from Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and on weekends from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
