In 1986, Marriner Theatres purchased the theatre and began refurbishing it so that it could continue to serve as a live theatre venue. After its grand reopening in 1989 with the musical ‘Les Miserables’, the Princess Theatre earned the record for the longest-running show in Victoria with ‘The Phantom of the Opera’.
Now, the theatre continues to bring some of the most renowned theatre productions to audiences.
