It is Australia’s largest cactus garden, covering 12 acres of land, and is a little piece of Mexico on the Murray. Visitors can explore the garden, which transports them from the Victorian Murray bushland to the Mexican Mojave, African Sahara, and the Argentinian Patagonia.

The garden features over 1000 plant varieties, from the smallest of succulents to the ‘el capitans’ of the cacti in the Valley of the Giants. Visitors can take in the views from the elevated lookout dome and see how many plant varieties they can spot.

Cactus Country has a unique indoor and outdoor space that can be hired for functions or events. The venue has a cafe/bar that serves Mexican-inspired cuisine and drinks, including margaritas, Mexican beer, and homemade cactus ice cream for kids.

The eatery also serves cactus cake and ice cream, which are a must-try for visitors. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the cactus collection is amazing.

Visitors can take home a cactus of their own from the garden, adding some Mexican flavor to their visit. The venue is wheelchair accessible, and visitors with mobility issues can easily explore the different tracks.
