I passionately like working with coloured glass to make leadlight windows. Looking at the pure colour and light that glass brings is magic.

Loving the enchanting moment when one first sees light through a finished window, the hard and dirty work all but forgotten. I like using found objects, and make use of multimedia in my work whenever I fell its necessary to complement the work.

Inspiration comes from wherever I can get it – A blazingly bright bunch of flowers, an old bicycle, a visit to the museum where I spot my childhood tricycle. Sometimes a morning swim – a bright blue pool, sparkling with silvery sunlight triggers a desire to get that down in paint.

Household produce that looks nice and fresh from the market becomes a painting, rather than a meal. A leopard makes its way into my subconscious and ends up in a painting.

My strong sense of family is reflected in my paintings throughout the years. Ria Taylor is an artist living and working in Busselton.

Proficient in many artistic disciplines, her most recent interests are painting, leadlight glass and some textiles (as light relief).
