The reserve is known for its unique woodland and wetland ecosystem, which provides a habitat for over 60 native bird species and other wildlife such as platypus, water rats, and yellow-bellied water skinks.
The diverse flora and fauna can be observed in different zones within the reserve. At the end of the track, there is a rotunda where visitors can enjoy picnics, meet friends, or simply relax while taking in the scenic views.

It is located about a kilometer away from the Yarrawonga Mulwala Visitor Information Centre. Visitors can follow the Murray Valley Highway, turn into Piper Street, and continue onto Lynch Street and Chinaman’s Island Road.
A parking lot on the left side of the road provides easy access to the walking track.
