About Albury Library Museum

Designed by Ashton Raggatt McDougall, the building opened in 2007. In its first year of operation, the building had 226,000 visitors, 80,000 of whom entered the exhibition space.
The library has over 50,000 books, periodicals and electronic media. The Library Museum adds an architectural texture to the Albury cityscape.
The builders of the iridescent orange and gray building with criss-cross architecture, less than eight years old, are said to have been motivated by the historic Murray River Rail Bridge. The centre showcases Albury’s rich culture and heritage and is home to interactive exhibitions and a wealth of reading and research materials.
For history buffs, Crossing Place: A Story of Albury helps provide insight into the history of the Wiradjuri, Australian Aboriginal and landowning city, and post-war European migration to the modern metropolis
