It has been divided into three main sections, namely Queenscliff, North Steyne, and South Steyne. The beach is named after the indigenous people living in this area, who were known for their confidence and manly behavior, according to Capt.

Arthur Phillip, who named the beach. Visitors to Manly beach can enjoy strolling along the oceanway to reach Fairy Bower and Shelley Beach.

In the town center, visitors have plenty of shops, restaurants, night clubs, and bars to choose from, all within walking distance of the beach. The Northern Beaches Council lifeguards offer year-round surveillance at South Steyne, and seasonal surveillance from October to April at North Steyne and Queenscliff.

Manly beach is easily accessible by public or private ferry from Sydney city center. A public ferry from Circular Quay takes approximately 30 minutes to arrive at Manly.

The private ferry services, known as “fast ferries,” run from Monday to Saturday and take only 18 minutes to reach Manly. The Corso, a popular pedestrian plaza, is situated between the ferry wharf and harbor beach and runs across the peninsula to reach Manly Beach, where it demarcates the boundary between North Steyne and South Steyne.
