Description

Family-owned Leeuwin Estate, one of the five founding wineries of the now famous Margaret River wine region, is under the stewardship of three generations, who work with a team of highly skilled winemakers to consistently produce wines ranking alongside the world's finest. 

In 1972, legendary Napa Valley winemaker, Robert Mondavi, identified the future site of the Leeuwin vineyard as being ideal for the production of premium wine and provided early mentorship to Denis and Tricia Horgan in the transformation of their cattle farm into Leeuwin Estate. Enjoying its first commercial vintage in 1979, Leeuwin was thrust into the international spotlight when Decanter Magazine gave its highest recommendation to the 1981 "Art Series" Chardonnay. The international accolades have continued and Leeuwin now exports to 30 markets. Celebrating the combination of fine wine, food, art and music, Leeuwin features an award-winning restaurant, cellar door and art gallery. The Estate is renowned for staging spectacular events and welcoming visitors from around the world. 

The Wines
With a focus on Margaret River’s hero wine varieties, the Leeuwin Estate Art Series, Prelude and Siblings labels are regional benchmarks and share a place amongst the great wines of Australia, receiving ongoing international acclaim and attention. 

Wine Tasting
Taste the range daily from 10am – 5pm at Leeuwin's cellar door. Alternatively, discover more of Leeuwin Estate story with a host of tour experiences.  A range of tours operate and can be booked in advance. 

Restaurant
Overlooking a meadow surrounded by forest and majestic karri trees, Leeuwin features an award-winning restaurant, pairing exceptional seasonal produce from WA with its wines, including special museum-release vintages. Enjoy Chef's Daily Three-Course Menu, or the outstanding six-course Tasting Menu. Open for lunch Friday - Tuesday inclusive.

Unique Highlights
The Leeuwin Estate Art Gallery exhibits works by Australian artists, including many of the original paintings that feature on its icon Art Series wine labels. 

Described as one of Australia’s most extraordinary concerts, The Leeuwin Concert is one of Margaret River’s most famous events. Since 1985, it has attracted an enviable list of international performers from Ray Charles to Diana Ross, Sting, James Taylor and Simply Red. Description

Voyager Estate is a small, second generation, family-owned estate located in Stevens Valley and was established in 1978. Currently undergoing full organic conversion, the winery is one of Australia’s most ambitious and innovative producers of world-class Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. All wines are estate-grown and reflect the unique qualities of Stevens Valley in Wallcliffe, Margaret River, with its undulating slopes, warm summers and cooling maritime breezes.

The Wines
Voyager Estate specialises in making Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. The range explores these in-depth, through three labels; MJW, Estate and Projects.

MJW wines are the pinnacle of viticulture and winemaking. Sourced from the very best fruit and only made in exceptional years when conditions are optimal. Made in extremely limited quantity and presented in a hand numbered bottle.

The Estate Range wines have become recognised as excellent expressions of their variety and wine style. They all play their part in demonstrating the effect that the gravel soils, microclimate, aspect, and maritime influence of our site have on these classic varieties. 

The Project Wines give the vineyard and winery teams the chance to showcase varieties and styles outside our Estate Range. It's an opportunity to trial different winemaking techniques, or highlight the nuances of the growing season.

Wine Tasting

Voyager Estate specialises in seated wine flight style tastings that offer an in-depth understanding of the wines. Wines can also be enjoyed by the glass or bottle, with share plates of cold meats and preserves available too. For something extra special, book a private tasting with the Estate Sommelier, or select one of the diverse behind the scenes tours that operate on weekdays. Open 10am – 5pm daily.

The Restaurant
Headed by Spanish Chef Santiago Fernandez, who won WA Regional Chef of the Year (2018 WA Good Food Guide), Voyager Estate specialises in wine-paired menus. The 4 or 7 course degustation menu shows off not just the Voyager Estate wines, but also Margaret River’s impressive seasonal produce. It changes every two months. Open from 11.30am daily.

The restaurant was also awarded Regional Restaurant of the Year in the WA Good Food Guide awards in November 2018.

Spend the day with Voyager Estate on their Walk, Wine & Dine tour. It begins with a guided walk through the Boodijdup Valley section of the world-renowned Cape to Cape track, completes with the ultimate treat, a spectacular 7-course, wine-paired menu at the award-winning Voyager Estate Restaurant.
