Description

Dubbed the 'anti-conference', Australia's South West's own idea's fest is an influential celebration of creativity where ideas get off the ground. Held each year in the magical town of Margaret River, marketers, content-makers, innovators, futurists, leaders and artists across music, film, advertising, photography, digital, experiential and visual arts come to Emergence to collaborate and share knowledge in a unique brains trust. Whether it's ideas, inspiration, networking, industry insights or emerging trends you're after, The Emergence Creative Fesitval brings it all together in a wild few days.

This year's festival theme is 'Human Connection in a Post-Digital World,' the question being, is our digital attachment as consumers and businesses detaching us from human experience? Our keynotes and workshops will explore how we can harness the benefits of new tech, dodge the pitfalls and connect as people in a post-digital landscape.

Alongside many keynotes and hands-on workshops are satelite events and pop-ups that celebrate the beautiful region of Margaret River and allows you to network and connect with other like-minded individuals.

Check out our website, Facebook and Instagram for all the ticketing info, this years speakers and what we have in store for 2020.

Description

PLEASE NOTE, THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED:

Following an emergency meeting of the Margaret River Region Open Studios board this morning, and significant communication with many of our artists over recent days, we have made the difficult, but we believe appropriate, decision to postpone this year’s Open Studios event. Whilst we do not have a mass audience, we feel that this is the most socially responsible course of action to take in this rapidly changing environment. We will reschedule the event to Spring 2020 and update our communications channels as appropriate. We encourage our event supporters to continue to engage with our artists via their social media channels and websites while they continue to produce new creative work, and thank them for their interest and support to date. The South West will be transformed into an art lovers’ paradise for 16 days this April and May for Margaret River Region Open Studios.

More than 110 artists will throw open their studio doors to welcome art lovers and share their passion.

The event, now in its seventh year, features painters, sculptors, illustrators, jewellers, printmakers, glassblowers, ceramicists, potters, photographers, furniture makers, woodworkers, textile artists, metalworkers, mixed media artists and upcyclers who share a love of this beautiful part of the world.

Make a holiday of it and plan your itinerary to go off the beaten path and visit studios of artists you know and love, and some you don’t but who might just be the next big thing! Recognisable artists include Leon Pericles, Rachel Coad, Lauren Wilhelm, Rebecca Cool and Christian Fletcher.

The event stretches across an area of almost 700 square kilometres from Busselton to Augusta, encouraging you to visit some of the 110+ Artist studios scattered throughout the Margaret River Region.

See the website for full artist and studio details and information. From March, pick up an event guide at your local Jackson’s Drawing Supplies store or local Visitor Centres and attractions.
