Description

Welcome to the home of Cape to Cape, Australia’s largest, longest running and most popular four day MTB stage race held from 17th to the 20th October 2019. Based in Margaret River Western Australia, this iconic riding experience includes access to stunning private trails, vineyard visits, brewery finishes and some of the warmest hospitality the region has to offer.

Starting at Cape Leeuwin lighthouse and finishing four days later at the famous Colonial Brewery, the course makes its way through a network of trails along the coast, through National Parks, forest, farm lands, mountain bike parks, and bush before finishing back at Margaret River. Roughly 210km and 2,500m of climbing in total, each day’s riding is between 45km and 65km and has its own special terrain and environment to keep things interesting with a mix of fast flowing single trail, farm tracks, groomed downhill trails and fire trails – many through private land that can only be ridden while racing the Cape to Cape.

Description

Homegrown rock favourites Hands Like Houses have lifted the lid on a stunning new version of their track 'Through Glass' – taken from from their critically acclaimed 2018 album - Anon. – this time with rising Melbourne pop artist Samsaruh adding vocals. If the original of 'Through Glass' wasn't enough of a modern rock earworm already, Samsaruh breathes new life into the track with her delicate vocals and pop flavour.

Alongside the new music comes the announcement that Hands Like Houses will embark on a whopping 20-stop regional Australian tour through October and November. A year on from bagging the coveted triple j Feature Album packet and peaking at #4 on the ARIAs with - Anon., the band are hardly leaving a corner of the country unturned and will trek as far as Margaret River, Cairns and Hobart as part of the tour.

Hands Like Houses vocalist Trenton Woodley explains that since its very inception, 'Through Glass' felt like a two person narrative, and the band were keen to bring someone from outside of the "rock" sphere to take on the other side of the story.

"[We wanted] someone that would bring their own style and flavour to a song we were already immensely proud of," he adds. "We were lucky enough to cross connections with Samsaruh, an incredible emerging artist in her own right, and she was an absolute gem to work with, bringing a new sense of urgency, passion and atmosphere that made 'Through Glass' feel like it was always meant to be this way.”

Sydney-based funk, soul and R&B act Winston Surfshirt today release their latest single, “Smile”paired with the announcement of their second studio album, Apple Crumble, due out this November via Sweat It Out. The six-piece celebrate the news with a fresh set of regional tour dates, as they debut their new material live across Australia this summer.

Premiered on triple j's Good Nights, “Smile” enlists brass hooks folded with shimmying beats, enhanced by Winston’s unmistakable cocktail of sultry R&B and soul-driven vocals. More slowed-down in approach than the disco movement of recent track “Make A Move”, today’s release ties a bow on the signature mood their loyal fans crave, and is certain to crack grins and stir visions of summertime in listeners everywhere. Funk-dipped grooves and catchy rhythms point to smiling words of love, as the esteemed act get set to embark on the next round of their musical story.
Winston says of the single:"I've been with the same woman for 14 years and she has the most emphatic smile. I think I was always meant to write this song..."
