Amongst many other things, self isolation means we are all going to have to make a serious effort when it comes to maintaining our love lives.

Whilst undoubtedly delicious, your standard Chinese takeaway chowed down night after night in front of the TV could get old pretty quickly. So why not go beyond the obvious? Set the table, light a couple of candles (perhaps scented?), crack open that bottle of vintage red you’ve been saving, and order takeaway or home delivery from one of Perth’s most exclusive restaurants.

We’ve scouted out five of Perth’s top restaurants who have made the transition to takeaway, following coronavirus-induced bans.

State Buildings

If the thought of going without a bowl of Long Chim’s award-winning Thai curry is hard to handle, you’re in for a treat! The team at State Buildings have just announced their new Home Delivery service and will continue to serve up all your favourite dishes from Petition, Post and Long Chim, delivered straight to your door. And, just as you would if you went out to eat, you can pick out a wine or beer to pair with your meal. Whilst deliveries are focused on Perth CBD and surrounding suburbs the team will do their best to accommodate.

Il Lido

A favourite amongst Cottesloe-dwellers, Il Lido offers simple Italian cuisine done well. To cope with the changing times, they have announced their new takeaway menu, so that you can enjoy their pasta and risotto at home. Coffee and savoury and sweet treats will be available to go from 7am – 3pm, with the heartier options available from 4pm onwards. Call ahead to order and pick up at the door.

As a meeting point in the bustle of Northbridge, Bivouac’s menu encourages sharing. Fittingly, their new takeaway and delivery menu includes tailored meal packs for families, couples and groups of four. For those flying solo, their ‘Biv Bento Box’ is the perfect dinner for 1. Delivering to select suburbs in the Perth metropolitan region, their ‘Biveroo’ delivery service is free for orders over $75. They’ll be open for orders from Tuesday to Sunday 5pm to 9pm.

Applauded for their delicious and Insta-worthy dishes, the team at City Beach’s Odyssea have just introduced their fittingly-named takeaway menu, ‘Odyssea at Home’. For those who are time-poor and want hassle-free options, their menu includes family packs, or meals for couples with veggie and GF options available. They’ll be open for takeaway 7 days a week, during breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Must Wine Bar

Serving up ‘comfort food to share’, Must Wine Bar’s new takeaway menu features a ‘dish of the day’ option which changes daily. Delivery is free if you’re in Highgate or one of the surrounding suburbs and, most importantly, you can still grab a bottle of wine to wash it all down. Takeaway and delivery are available from Wed – Sun from 4pm.
