Pascale Abbott

Attractions Paintings, Textiles, Upcycling

Description

Since Pascale Abbott moved to Australia she has been creating masterpieces with different mediums: textiles, paintings, sculptures, metalwork!

Over the years, my art has evolved from knitting and weaving as a young girl to painting as an adult. During the last few years I have been experimenting with various mediums: painting, sculpture, some metal work and textiles.

I am very lucky to be surrounded by 5 acres of natural beauty and in the company of numerous birds and wildlife, which are an important part of my daily inspiration.

I paint in a spontaneous way depending on the mood and sensations that happen at the time. My art captures the light, movement and shapes using vibrant and evocative colours.

During the last 2 years, I have been inspired by a road trip to the north of Western Australia as well as Tasmania. As a result, I have been experimenting with new colour schemes and the introduction of textiles.

Upcycling projects have been part of much of my previous work and continue to be an important feature of my art. I constantly collect and recycle vehicle hubcaps transforming them into vibrant flowers that are perfect as a garden decoration. You will see many of them displayed throughout my large established garden.
