After the success of their first virtual market, Perth Upmarket are back for a special 12-hour Mother’s Day virtual market this Sunday.

Perth Upmarket’s first virtual market was so popular the site crashed in the first few hour. Owner Justine Barsley has learnt much from that experience and is taking the one day market to the next level by curating the products on display for Mother's Day. Sunday’s market will feature around 50 makers and producers offering something special for any and every Mum.

“Foodie mums can enjoy award winning spices and sauces from Turban Chopsticks, whereas fashion loving mums can choose from a number of once-off handmade designs from Jet Empire and Robin Wells Jewellery.” says owner Justine.

This time around, there are a few new kids on the block, like Artisan Soapworks who make natural soaps (for those sick of their dry, over-sanitised hands) and Clive & Collection, who hand make pyjamas.

The market site is user friendly, with shoppers encouraged to sign up now to get a text, email and Facebook notification letting them know when the market opens. When purchasing from different producers, you will be directed to their sites, so you know the money is going straight to them - Perth Upmarket does not take any of the profits.

If your Mum’s a woman who loves variety, there are bundle packages available - stall holder Miss Willow has crafted a gift pack including a ceramic mug filled with day spa items from other Upmarket retailers.

When asked about the potential of a third virtual Upmarket, Petra Vanessie of Perth Upmarket told us, “Justine is planning on it. The next one is supposed to be in June, but by then [the markets] might be back on as normal”. According to Petra, if we find ourselves still stuck in lockdown by then, they could put another virtual market together for us online shoppers.

Even though your mind might be off with the fairies at the minute, there’s no excuse for not getting Mum a Mother’s Day gift fit for a queen. Plus, with 2 weeks between Perth Virtual Upmarket and the big day, there’s still time to nail it!

Beginning at 9am on Sunday, you can access the marketplace here.
