Description

Jacks Creek Picnic Area is a stunning and peaceful woodland picnic spot located in Cocoparra National Park, a short drive away from Griffith, NSW.

It is a popular attraction for tourists visiting the Riverina region of New South Wales.

While exploring the area, visitors can admire the amazing rock faces and formations exposed by Jacks Creek cutting through the mountain range. The creek is surrounded by a diverse range of flora and fauna, including orchids, lilies, and paper daisies, as well as wallabies, echidnas, and emus. The picnic area provides a perfect setting to enjoy a meal under the trees or cook on the barbecue while listening to the soothing sounds of nature.

The best time to visit the Jacks Creek picnic area is during the spring season, from September to November, when the woodland comes alive with blooming wildflowers. To reach the picnic area, visitors can drive through the Kidman Way or Rankins Springs Roads. The last 5km of the journey is on a gravel road, so it is important to have a suitable vehicle. From Griffith, take the Kidman Way and turn right onto Nangus Road. Follow this for about 18.6km, then turn left onto Jacks Creek Road and continue for the last 5km to reach the picnic area. Public transport is not directly available to the picnic area.
