Art Galleries in Griffith Region

The Griffith Region in New South Wales is home to the Griffith Regional Art Gallery (GRAG), a vibrant creative space in the Western Riverina. GRAG is the permanent home of the National Contemporary Jewellery Collection and the Couture Collection. Throughout the year, GRAG showcases nationally significant exhibitions and provides exhibition opportunities for local and regional artists. Some notable exhibition highlights in the past five years have included The Archibald Prize (AGNSW), For Country; for Nation (AWM), Concrete: Art, Design and Architecture (Jam Factory), Warangesda: Deep Waters (GRAG), and The Lakeview Art Collection (private collection).

The gallery is committed to developing artistic skills and promoting awareness in the visual arts through workshops and floor talks. The small yet dedicated team at GRAG are professional, approachable, creative, inclusive, informative, and fun. GRAG is also accessible to people with various access needs, catering to those who are deaf or have hearing loss, use a wheelchair, or have sufficient mobility to climb a few steps but would benefit from fixtures (including people using walking frames and mobility aids).

In addition to GRAG, the Griffith Region is close to other regional art galleries in Country NSW, such as MAMA in riverside Albury in the southwest and the Bank Art Museum Moree in the natural thermal region. Evocative works by Aboriginal artists feature in many of these galleries.
