Cocoparra National Park

Cocoparra National Park, located in the Riverina region of New South Wales, Australia, is a protected national park that spans over an area of 8,357 hectares (20,650 acres).

The park gets its name from the Aboriginal word 'cocupara', which means kookaburra. It showcases a prominent range of hills, including Bingar Mountain and Brogden Mountain, while a large part of the landscape is mostly flat. Cocoparra Nature Reserve adjoins the national park to the north. The Binya - Cocoparra area is classified as an Important Bird Area, with a population of up to 50 near-threatened painted honeyeater birds and the diamond firetail. The park's semi-arid climate and rugged landscape provide habitats for various plant species. The geology of the park mostly comprises Upper Devonian sandstones, siltstones, and conglomerates.
