Description

Yengo National Park is a nature lover's paradise, located in the Lower Hunter region of New South Wales, Australia.

Covering a vast area of 154,328-hectare (381,350-acre), this protected national park is an ideal destination for people who love to explore.

Yengo National Park is located at a distance of 85 kilometres (53 mi) northwest of the Sydney central business district. Visitors can access the park via Yengo Creek Road off the Great North Road, near Laguna. The park is bounded by various settlements and natural landmarks, including Bucketty, Broke, Wollombi Brook, Putty Road, Mellong Range, Parr State Conservation Area, St Albans, Webbs Creek, Hawkesbury River, and Dharug National Park.

The park holds great historical significance as part of the Great Dividing Range, which was important to the Aboriginal people of the area. It features ancient Aboriginal rock engravings and rock art sites, such as the Painted Cave and the Finchley Cultural Walk.

Yengo National Park is home to over 50 species of mammals, including wombats, wallaroos, koalas, and gliding possums. It also offers a haven for birdwatchers, with over 200 species of birds to spot. The park's features include beautiful rock formations, gorges, waterfalls, and scenic walks. The Convict Wall and the amphitheatre used by the community are also worth exploring.

In recent years, the park was heavily impacted by the Gospers Mountain Fire, the largest bushfire from a single ignition point in Australia's history. Despite this, Yengo National Park remains a beautiful natural haven that offers unique opportunities to explore
