The Stanley Heritage Walk offers visitors a chance to experience the town's history dating back to the early 1800s. Captain's Cottage, built-in early 1830 and once owned by Captain Frederick Burgess, is a must-visit site. Alexander Tce, a row of little shops in Church Street that first showed up in photographs in 1860 and still serve the town today, should not be missed. Visitors can also explore Bay View Hotel, Stanley's first hotel, The Plough Inn, one of the town's oldest buildings, and Church Street Shops.

The best time to explore Stanley is during summer (December-February) as temperatures are mild, and rainfall is low. Visitors can fly into Burnie Airport or Devonport Airport to reach Stanley by air. From there, it's about an hour's drive to Stanley. Alternatively, visitors can take a bus from Launceston or Hobart to Stanley.
