Nursery Reef

Nursery Reef Rainbow Beach is a dive site that is popular among beginners due to its shallow depth and exposed location.

It is located close to shore and is approximately 5 to 7 meters deep.

At Nursery Reef, divers can swim among a variety of fish and admire the range of hard corals, soft corals, and sponges. Marine life such as moray eels, ornate Wobbegong sharks, crayfish, and many others can be observed. The reef is also adorned with ledges and caves, making it an interesting place to explore.

The best time to visit Nursery Reef is during the summer months between December and February when the weather is warm and the water temperature is around 25°C. To get to Nursery Reef, visitors can fly to Sunshine Coast Airport, which is about 90 kilometers from Rainbow Beach. From there, they can take a taxi or rent a car to reach the beach. Once in Rainbow Beach, a boat can be taken approximately 1 kilometer out to sea to reach Nursery Reef.
