Mornington Peninsula National Park

The Mornington Peninsula National Park is located in the Greater Melbourne region of Victoria, Australia.

Covering an area of 2,686 hectares (6,640 acres), it holds great heritage significance and is situated approximately 90 kilometres (56 mi) south of Melbourne on the Mornington Peninsula.

Together with the adjacent Arthurs Seat State Park, the national park was listed on the now-defunct Register of the National Estate due to their outstanding values and importance as part of the protected area's heritage.

The most popular attraction in the national park is the Coast Walk, a two-day 30-kilometre (19 mi) walking track from Cape Schanck to London Bridge. This track offers scenic views of almost the entire coastline of the national park. Visitors can explore the network of cliff top tracks amidst dense coastal vegetation, providing stunning vistas of the ocean. Additionally, there are long beach walks that pass by sculpted sand dunes and tidal rock pools, showcasing the diverse natural beauty of the area.

For shorter hikes, the Farnsworth Track is a must-visit, linking Portsea Surf Beach with London Bridge and spanning 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) in length. Another trail, the Coppins Track, is a 3-kilometre (1.9 mi) return walk from Sorrento Ocean Beach to Diamond Bay.

Visitors can also explore the historic Cape Schanck Lighthouse, built in 1859, which serves as an excellent example of the architecture of its time. Greens Bush, the largest remnant of bushland on the Mornington Peninsula, is another notable feature of the national park.
