Lagoon Reserve is a beautiful and expansive park located in Port Melbourne.

The reserve offers a wide range of facilities and features, including BBQs, benches, a dog off-leash area, paths, picnic area, public toilets, a small sports pavilion, a sports field for cricket and soccer, three practice cricket nets, and extensive native garden beds. The park is situated in the former industrial area of Port Melbourne, which has been transformed into a recreational and residential area.

Walking around the park is the best way to appreciate its natural beauty. Birdwatchers will especially enjoy the park, as it is home to a variety of birds such as swans, ducks, and ibis. The native garden beds are a popular attraction, offering diverse vegetation and a pleasant environment for a leisurely stroll. Lagoon Reserve also provides a playground for children to enjoy, as well as a dog off-leash area for dog owners.

Lagoon Reserve can be visited year-round, but the best time to go is during the warmer months, particularly in spring and summer when the garden is in full bloom.

To reach Lagoon Reserve, you can take Liardet Street, Esplanade West, or Graham Streets in Port Melbourne. The 606 bus (Fisherman’s Bend to Elsternwick) passes directly by the reserve along Liardet Street. Other bus routes, such as 250, 251, 253, and 238, can be accessed from Bay Street Port Melbourne, and the park is just a short walk east along Liardet Street.
