Description

Welcome to Goongarrie National Park! Located in Western Australia, Goongarrie National Park is a beautiful conservation area that can be found 592 km (368 mi) east of Perth and approximately 94 km (58 mi) north of Kalgoorlie.

The park was initially a part of Goongarrie Station, which was purchased by the State government in 1995. The park also encompasses the remnants of the abandoned townsite of Goongarrie. The park is home to various arid zone woodlands and is primarily situated along the mulga-eucalypt line. The vegetation of the park is mainly composed of acacias and eucalypts, which dominate the landscape, along with other flora species. The southern tip of Lake Marmion, located at the park's northern edge, is surrounded by several smaller salt lakes and clay pans, creating an ecosystem that is rich in aquatic plants and wildlife. Goongarrie National Park is a transition area between the Coolgardie and Murchison bioregions, and as such, it is home to a diverse range of fauna and flora species.

The park underwent an upgrade in 2007 when the government provided $70,000 in funding for the infrastructural development of the area. The improvements included new trails, signage, and information booths to allow visitors to explore the park's natural beauty with ease.

Goongarrie National Park is a fantastic destination to explore Western Australia's natural wonders. Plan your visit to experience the unique ecosystem and stunning views of this unspoiled wilderness.
