Description

Hyams Beach Trail, also known as Bird Spotter's Walk, is a delightful 1 km long trail that runs along the southern end of Hyams Beach village.

Designed by local birdwatchers, this trail offers a fantastic opportunity to view Jervis Bay's birdlife up close. The walk is easy, and there are clear signs posted along the trail, explaining the various birds you can see and hear while on the trail.

Hyams Beach Trail is famous for the birdlife that it offers to visitors. During the walk, keep an ear out for the birdlife, including new holland honey-eaters, eastern spinebills, eastern rosellas and crimson rosellas. These are just some of the birds known to inhabit the Jervis Bay area.

The trail begins at Lister Crescent, and you can follow the signs to start the walk. It is approximately 1 km long and can be completed in about 30 minutes. While on the trail, you can explore the local birdlife, from the honey-eater to the rosella, which is explained with the help of signs. Once you've finished the trail, you can head towards the stunning Seamans Beach, located a short distance away.

Hyams Beach Trail is a year-round activity, but spring and autumn are considered the best time to visit. During these seasons, the weather remains mild, and you can see a large number of birds, including migratory birds.

To get to Hyams Beach Trail, start from Lister Crescent, located at the southern end of Hyams Beach village. You can reach Hyams Beach from Sydney by taking a 2.5-hour drive along the coastal road. Alternatively, regular buses run from Sydney to Jervis Bay
