Description

Hervey Bay Recreation Pathways offers visitors the opportunity to explore the stunning coastline of Hervey Bay, Queensland, Australia.

This pathway network offers a diverse range of activities suitable for people of all ages and abilities. The pathway offers two options for visitors to choose from. The first option is a 15-kilometer coastal pathway that goes along the popular Esplanade, where people can enjoy stunning ocean views or watch the whales during their migration season. Alternatively, visitors can enjoy a 14-kilometer journey along the links corridor which follows an old rail line. This particular section is part of a long-term plan to continue the pathway all the way to Maryborough, which is roughly 32 kilometers along the disused rail line that ran from Urangan Pier to Maryborough.

The pathway offers a diverse range of activities for visitors to experience along the way. On the coastal journey, visitors can stop at any of the precincts along the way to explore local markets, cafes, restaurants, and shopping centers. Visitors can indulge in swimming, fishing, and sunbathing at the beach, or take strolls through the parks, botanic gardens, and playgrounds along the way. Additionally, visitors can explore the piers and get a glimpse into the local and aboriginal history of the area. Visitors should note that the Trail is shared among walkers, cyclists, skateboarders, scooters, and rollerbladers. Cyclists should give way to pedestrians and travel at a safe speed to ensure the safety of all trail visitors. Dog owners should also note that dogs are permitted on-leash on the trails but they are not allowed on beaches or in playgrounds.

Hervey Bay Recreation Pathways is suitable for all year-round exploration newline.
