Attractions

Glen Waverley, VIC 3150

Description

Scotchmans Creek Trail is a shared use path for cyclists and pedestrians in eastern Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

It starts at East Malvern railway station and follows the course of the Scotchmans Creek until it reaches Jells Park, with some sections consisting of residential streets.

The trail provides easy access to important locations in the community, such as Chadstone Shopping Centre and Holmesglen Institute of TAFE. It also passes through Valley Reserve, which is one of the last remaining stands of indigenous vegetation in the area.

The trail is recognized as ending at East Malvern Railway Station, but some sources have the west end at Warrigal Rd. Approaching from this end, the signage can be confusing as two separate routes are signed without indicating which one to use.

The trail begins at East Malvern Railway Station and runs alongside the Monash Freeway towards Warrigal Road. It continues along the Scotchmans Creek Linear Reserve until it reaches Park Rd. The trail passes by various landmarks and crosses several roads before reaching Waverley Rd near Anthony Drive. From there, it continues northeastward, crossing Blackburn Rd via a footbridge and ending near Homesglen Institute of TAFE.

After crossing Waverley Rd, the trail follows a specific path through residential streets until it reaches Jells Park. There are options for cyclists after Lum Rd, either going down Strickland Dr and Clarke Ct or Tom Begg Ct. The trail descends into the Dandenong Valley and continues to Jells Park.

The Scotchmans Creek Trail connects to other trails such as the Gardiners Creek Trail, Outer Circle Trail, Centre Rd Trail, and Waverley Rail Trail. At Jells Park, it also links to the Dandenong Creek
