It is known for its stunning beauty, crystal waters, granite peaks, and wildlife. The park covers 31km and offers pristine beaches along a 2 to 3-day trail.

To reach Cooks Beach Freycinet, it takes about three hours by car from Hobart. The best route is to take the Tasman Highway (A3) and follow the Coles Bay Road (C302) until reaching the main car park.

From Hazards Beach, the trail continues for 3.5km to the north until reaching the north end of Cooks Beach. The Cooks Beach campsite is recommended as the first night's campsite. There is also an additional easy graded trail to Bryan's Bay for those who want to explore further.

The second day's hiking to Wineglass Bay is challenging, especially for those wanting to reach the summit of Mount Freycinet. The climb to the top is technically challenging but can be done in less than an hour.
