History: Eighty Mile Beach, previously known as 90-mile beach, is located on the northwest coast of Western Australia.

Spanning approximately 220 kilometers, it is situated where the Great Sandy Desert meets the Indian Ocean.

Description: Eighty Mile Beach is a stunning natural wonder with a vast expanse of pristine white sand. It offers breathtaking sights and is perfect for walks and swims. The crystal-clear waters provide a refreshing escape from the sun, while the soft sand is ideal for relaxation and beach activities.

Ramsar site: Eighty Mile Beach is an important site for migratory shorebirds in Australia. With 1,750 square kilometers of beach and adjoining land, it has been recognized as a wetland of international importance under the Ramsar Convention. The beach attracts a wide range of migratory bird species, making it a significant destination for bird watching.

Tourism and Access: Despite relatively low tourist activity, Eighty Mile Beach is becoming increasingly popular. The beach's caravan park at Wallal Downs provides access to the beach, which is located 250 kilometers north of Port Hedland and 365 kilometers south of Broome. Visitors can enjoy activities such as fishing, seashell collecting, and other beach-based recreation.
