Description

Cement Creek Redwood Forest is a lovely secluded spot located near Warburton, on the outskirts of the Yarra Ranges National Park.

The 1.9-kilometer loop trail takes about 33 minutes to complete and is considered easy, making it great for families with young kids. The trail offers beautiful views of the forest, riverbanks, and wildlife.

To access the forest, visitors can turn left at the sign for Cement Creek Road after passing through East Warburton. The car park is located about 500 meters down the unsealed road. Alternatively, people can reach the forest by following the O’Shannassy Aqueduct Trail for approximately 16 kilometers roundtrip on foot, bike, or public transport.

The trail in Cement Creek Redwood Forest has a magical ambiance and delightful sounds. It can be muddy, slippery, and wet, so waterproof shoes are recommended. There are no toilets or bins in the forest, and dogs are not allowed. Parking is limited, and the main road leading to the forest is closed until February 2023.

The forest is a great place for forest bathing and enjoying the tranquil environment of the impressive Sequoia trees. The wooden pathways are flat and wide, making it easy for visitors to take a short yet beautiful walk. Besides hiking, guests can engage in activities like birdwatching, wildlife spotting, and photography. They can also explore the nearby town of Warburton, where they can try local cuisine, visit galleries and boutiques, or explore the Upper Yarra Museum.
