Description
Flintstone Rock Trail, also known as Beedoboondu, is located within Mount Augustus National Park in Western Australia.
The trail is situated around Mount Augustus, an iconic sandstone and conglomerate inselberg. The rocks that form Mount Augustus are known as the Mount Augustus Sandstone, deposited by ancient river systems. The mountain has historical significance, as it was climbed by Francis Thomas Gregory in 1858 and named after his brother. The nearby Mount Augustus Station offers accommodation and facilities, but once on the trail, hikers must bring their own supplies. The 49 km trail takes approximately three days to complete and offers opportunities to see unique wildlife and native plants newline.
