Description

Nature's Way is a picturesque drive covering a vast area of the Northern Territory in Australia.

The drive covers Nitmiluk and Kakadu National Parks, and it is ideal for visitors that love wildlife sightings, birdwatching, and photography. It is the perfect drive for anyone with a two-wheel-drive car.

The drive spans a distance of 457 km beginning in Darwin, running along the Arnhem Highway, through Adelaide, and Mary River Wetlands. Visitors get to explore Kakadu National Park, follow the Kakadu Highway and end at Katherine, from there it's a short distance to Nitmiluk National Park (Katherine Gorge). Visitors get to enjoy the lovely scenery of flora and fauna and abundant wildlife sightings.

The starting point of the Nature's Way drive is Kakadu National Park, where visitors can explore ancient Aboriginal rock art galleries. Visitors can drive through the park or embark on a marked walking trail which stretches for hundreds of kilometres. Bird and animal lovers can also take a cruise on Yellow Water Billabong or the East Alligator River to see crocodiles and various birds species.

Nitmiluk National Park provides visitors with a chance to explore the famous Katherine Gorge. Visitors can board a cruise, canoe down the river, and spot more birds and crocodiles. After some fun and sightseeing, visitors can have a relaxing break by swimming in the spring-fed crystal clear pool of the Katherine Hot Springs.

Visitors can take time out to enjoy a scenic walk at Butterfly Gorge Nature Park, situated north of the historic gold mining town of Pine Creek. Finally, on your return to Darwin, stop off for a refreshing swim at the Edith Falls (Leliyn).
