Description

The Wadandi Track in Margaret River is a popular destination for exploring the natural environment and history of the region.

Bordered by peppermint, jarrah, and young karri forest, the track offers a firsthand view of abundant bird life. Visitors can also learn about the Aboriginal heritage and rich history surrounding the railway that was operational from 1884 to 1957.

Along the 5-kilometer stretch north of Margaret River, visitors can cross numerous bridges over the major river, creeks, and streams of varying sizes. The trail is easy to navigate and offers picnic areas along the way. The area is known for its spectacular birdlife, including yellow robins, parrots, and blue wrens. Spring is an ideal time to visit, as the wildflowers are stunningly beautiful. The gradient is relatively flat, but some areas can be moderate, so a mountain bike is recommended.

The Wadandi Track is open to visitors year-round, every day of the week. To get to the track, visitors can start or end at Cowaramup and finish at Witchcliffe. Transportation options include driving or taking a taxi.
