Description

The Royal Exhibition Building, a World Heritage-listed structure located in the Carlton Gardens, is one of the oldest remaining exhibition pavilions in the world.

It was built in 1880 to host the first of two international fairs in Melbourne, and was the site of the first Commonwealth Parliament in 1901. The Great Hall, with its restored interiors, galleries and grand dome, is now a popular venue for trade shows, fairs and cultural and community events. Steeped in history, it is a unique and impressive space that stands as a reminder of the city's past.
