Hamelin Bay Beach

Hamelin Bay Beach, located in Hamelin Bay, Western Australia, is a popular stopover for hikers on the Cape to Cape Track.

The area has a rich history, with a port and jetty that were once used for timber milling operations. Today, only a few original jetty piles remain. Visitors can also enjoy camping at Hamelin Bay, with modern facilities available. The beach is known for its shipwrecks, including the Agincourt, Hokitika, and Chaudiere. Hamelin Bay has also been the site of several whale strandings, which can attract sharks. Nearby, tourists can visit the Foul Bay Lighthouse on Hamelin Island. The area was also connected by the M C Davies railway, which reached Boranup and Flinders Bay. Cape Hamelin and Hamelin Island, both adjacent to Hamelin Bay, are also named after Jacques Félix Emmanuel Hamelin.
