Dr. Jane Goodall - Perth

Events May 28 The Stadium at Bentley University

Kent Street, Bentley, WA 6102

Description

TEG Dainty are proud to announce that Dr. Jane Goodall, PhD, DBE, UN Messenger of Peace and Founder of the Jane Goodall Institute will return to Australia and New Zealand.

Goodall is an English ethologist and activist and one of the world’s foremost experts on chimpanzees. She first went to Gombe Stream National Park in Tanzania to observe its chimpanzees in 1960. Her studies made the ground breaking discovery that humans were not the only species to make and modify tools. The work she began continues to this day as one of the longest longitudinal studies of any species on Earth.

After a long absence brought on by the COVID pandemic, Goodall, 89, is delighted to be returning to meet with her supporters and share her reasons for hope in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland.

The shows will be a presentation and lecture from Dr Jane Goodall and will include an audience Q&A segment along with a fireside conversation with a moderator.

Special guest announced: Marie Windstein is a Forrest Research Foundation PhD Scholar based at the Harry Butler Institute, Murdoch University. Through both academic and professional experiences, Marie has gained an in-depth understanding of the ecological value of our coasts while witnessing the widespread conservation challenges associated with increasing use of these areas. A movement ecologist, she is currently researching the patterns of habitat use of sharks and rays in the nearshore environment of the Karajarri Sea Country Indigenous Protected Area – a collaboration with the Karajarri Traditional Owners and the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development.
